How does TCP/IP work ?

Every bit and byte of information or data that is sent over a network or the Internet is broken into packets of electronic or digital data signals. Transmission Control Protocol is the language that computers use to verify that those packets of information get from where they start to where they are supposed to go. TCP will make sure that any data that is sent arrives and will keep sending the data until the receiving address has all that was originally sent. When the data is sent, TCP sends along certain bits of information at the beginning and end of the code. When the signal arrives at its destination the code is deciphered and if the acknowledgement code is not present the data is resent. This continues at the speed of the electronic signal until the receiver acknowledges the receipt of the complete packet. This happens as fast as the network can allow the bits to travel.
